A man who was stupid enough to steal $86K in lottery tickets gets arrested

People often take things that don’t belong to them and don’t get caught. Perhaps you can get away with sneaking a snickers bar out of a grocery store or loot change from someone’s unlocked vehicle without ever getting noticed. And even if a security guard notices you pocket a candy bar without paying, chances are you’ll leave with a slap on your wrist. But good luck trying to steal $86K worth of items from a Pharmacy store - you will get busted, and there will be no mercy for such stupidity.

Gambling turning into crime - New Jersey proposal comes to the rescue

Almost 70% of people in NJ participated in gambling just this last year, and 6.3% are suffering from uncontrollable gambling addictions. It’s a massive issue, considering that suchlike activities trigger parts of the brain that make it far too exciting for the participants to stop, eventually making gambling a habitual chase. What drives the addiction is usually the first successful win, which sets in a feeling of thrill and prompting a hunger for more. That in itself is a recipe for disaster, and the state of New Jersey suffers greatly, not just from addiction but also from gambling-related crimes.

She and her friends arrived at the Hard Rock Casino and didn’t even make it through the entrance before casing a massive scene and injuring an officer.

Columbus casino bribes players with a COVID-19 vaccine

Never once in this lifetime has there been anything like this - a casino offering free slot play money if you get vaccinated for COVID-19 during a special event. And not just one, but two if you’re up for the Pfizer doses. The Columbus, Ohio, Hollywood casino has made a rather strange deal for players due to the low vaccination rate in the area. Only 36% of individuals in the region have received a shot, so the gambling industry took it upon itself to fix the issue.

Twitch poorly combats illegal gambling | New restrictions

The ongoing issue of illegal gambling streams on Twitch has seen little to no attention from the site creators until earlier this August. But despite the alarming need for strict measures, a slight regulation has been introduced in order to prevent streamers from engaging in unlawful betting activities. Being that Twitch makes benefits from channels like Trainwreck and xQc, it’s possible that this band-aid solution was proposed in order to silence the complaining public, and allow streamers to carry on with shady, money-making activities.

Dottys Gaming and Spirits suffers a data breach

Dotty’s is a chain owned by Craig Estey in Nevada that has 175 locations in the state of Nevada, Oregon, and Minnesota. The uneventful-looking gambling facilities look like a shrunken counterfeit version of regular land-based casinos. Just one of those places one would go to if everything else was closed. Cheap American food like fries, corn dogs, pizza, and other snacks are offered to visitors. But to everyone’s surprise, a cyberattack at Dotty’s leaves 300,000 guests worried about their personal information.
